उपविभागीय पोलीस अधिकारी डॉ.सागर कवडे यांनी गडचिरोली जिल्ह्यात नक्षलग्रस्त भागात ऑगस्ट 2015 ते ऑगस्ट 2018 या कालावधीत आंतरिक सुरक्षा व्यवस्थेत उत्कृष्ट कामगिरी केल्याबद्दल तर पोलीस निरीक्षक किरण अवचर यांनी गडचिरोली जिल्ह्यातील एटापल्ली व चार्मोशी या नक्षलग्रस्त भागात मार्च 2014 ते ऑगस्ट 2018 या कालावधीत तसेच पोलीस निरिक्षक प्रशांत भस्मे यांनी गोंदिया जिल्ह्यातील नक्षलग्रस्त भागात जुलै 2015 ते जुन 2018 या कालावधीत तसेच पोलीस नाईक अनुरथ घोडके यांनी नक्षलग्रस्त भागात उत्कृष्ट कामगिरी केल्याबद्दल केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालयाव्दारे हे पदक जाहीर झाले आहे.
डॉ. सागर कवडे यांनी नक्षलग्रस्त गडचिरोली जिल्ह्यामध्ये अनेक नक्षलविरोधी अभियानांचे नेतृत्व केले. त्यामध्ये आंतरराज्य नक्षलविरोधी अभियान तसेच जहाल नक्षलवादी यांचे मतपरिवर्तन करुन त्यांना समाजाच्या मुख्य प्रवाहात आणले. सुरक्षा अभियान राबविताना मृत पावलेल्या नक्षलवाद्यांच्या मुलांना समाजाच्या मुख्य प्रवाहात आणण्यासाठी डॉ.कवडे यांनी जीवनावश्यक वस्तू व रोजगाराभिमुख प्रशिक्षण देऊन त्यांच्या पंखांमध्ये बळ भरण्यासाठी प्रकल्प अग्निपंख हे अभियान सुरु केले. गडचिरोली जिल्ह्यातील दुर्गम भागात वाचन संस्कृती रुजविण्यासाठी 27 पोलीस स्टेशन, पोलीस मदत केंद्रांमध्ये वाचनालयाची स्थापना करण्यासाठी प्रोजेक्ट ज्ञानगंगा, आत्मसमर्पित नक्षलवाद्यांच्या मनावरील कडवे डाव्या चळवळीचे नक्षलवादी विचार बदलण्यासाठी तसेच त्यांच्यावर लोकशाहीचे विचार रुजविण्यासाठी महात्मा गांधी विचारधन परीक्षा, सर्व धर्मांचे तत्त्वज्ञान शांतता हेच असून हिंसेचे समर्थन कोणत्याही धर्माने केले नाही ही बाब समाजात रुजविण्यासाठी शालेय महाविद्यालयीन विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी सामाजिक सद्भाव परीक्षा असे अनेक अभिनव उपक्रम डॉ. कवडे यांनी त्यांच्या कार्यकाळामध्ये राबविले.
तसेच नक्षलग्रस्त गडचिरोली जिल्ह्यामधील उत्कृष्ट कामगिरीबद्दल यापूर्वी पोलीस महासंचालक पदक व विशेष सेवा पदकाने डॉ.कवडे यांना सन्मानित करण्यात आलेले आहे. कवडे यांना पदक जाहीर झाल्याबद्दल त्यांचे सर्वत्र अभिनंदन करण्यात येत आहे.
