शरद पवारांचा प्रचार करायचा असेल तर जिल्हा परिषद अध्यक्ष संजय शिंदे यांनी आपल्या पदाचा राजीनामा द्यावा या सहकार मंत्री सुभाष देशमुख यांच्या विधानाबाबत संजय शिंदे यांना विचारले असता ते म्हणाले की, मी साहेबांचा प्रचार करणार याचे मंत्री सुभाष देशमुख स्वप्न पडले की काय?
याबाबतचे वृत्त असे की रविवारी सहकारमंत्री सुभाष देशमुख हे भाजपाच्या बैठकीसाठी पंढरपूरला आले असता त्यांना पत्रकारांनी राष्ट्रवादीचे अध्यक्ष खासदार शरद पवार यांची माढा लोकसभा मतदारसंघातील उमेदवारीबाबतचे प्रश्न विचारले. यावेळी चर्चा सुरू असताना पत्रकारांनी देशमुख यांना पवार यांचे या जिल्ह्यातील अनेक नेत्यांशी संबंध असून यातील काही आता भाजपाचे सहयोगी असल्याची आठवण करून दिली व यात जिल्हा परिषद अध्यक्ष संजय शिंदे व पंढरपूरचे परिचारक यांचा यात समावेश होता. यावर बोलताना देशमुख म्हणाले की ज्यांना पवार यांचा प्रचार करायचा असेल त्यांनी खुशाल करावा मात्र तत्पूर्वी भाजपाच्या पाठिंब्यावर मिळविलेली पदे सोडून द्यावीत अथवा राजीनामा द्यावा असे सूचित केले. दरम्यान या ओघात त्यांनी शिंदे यांचे नाव घेतले. याबाबत पुन्हा संजय शिंदे यांची प्रतिक्रिया घेतली असता त्यांनी वरील खोचक प्रतिक्रिया नोंदविली.
