पंढरपूर -महात्मा गांधी राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण शिक्षण परिषद या शिक्षण मंत्रालयाच्या नोडल एजन्सी कडून घेण्यात आलेल्या सन २०१९-२० मधील स्वच्छता क्रमवारीत कोर्टी (ता. पंढरपूर) येथील एस. के. एन सिंहगड काॅलेज ऑफ इंजिनिअरिंग महाविद्यालयाची सामाजिक उद्योजकता, स्वच्छता, प्रतिबद्धता विभागीय संस्था म्हणून निवड झाली असल्याची माहिती महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य डॉ. कैलास करांडे यांनी दिली.
महात्मा गांधी राष्ट्रीय ग्रामिण शिक्षण परिषद ही स्वच्छता कृती योजनेच्या शिक्षण मंत्रालयाची नोडल एजन्सी आहेत. ही परिषद आयसीएसएसआर एआयसीटीई, आयसीएचआर आणि आयसीपीआर यासारख्या शिक्षण मंत्रालयात उच्च शिक्षण विभागांतर्गत परिषद आहे.
२०१९ मध्ये एआयसीटीई यांनी आयोजित केलेल्या “स्वच्छ आणि स्मार्ट” कॅम्पसच्या स्पर्धेत पंढरपूर सिंहगड अभियांत्रिकी महाविद्यालयाने भाग घेतला होता. गेल्या वर्षी या सिंहगड कॅम्पसला समितीने भेट दिली होती. त्या अनुषंगाने पंढरपूर सिंहगड अभियांत्रिकी महाविद्यालयाला भारत सरकारच्या शिक्षण मंत्रालयाकडून चालू वर्षीच्या स्वच्छता कृती योजनेत निवड झाल्याने सामाजिक कार्य करण्याची संधी प्राप्त झाली आहे. पंढरपूर सिंहगड अभियांत्रिकी महाविद्यालयाने यापुर्वी अनेक सामाजिक विविध उपक्रम राबविले आहेत.
भारत सरकारच्या या कृती योजनेत पंढरपूर सिंहगड अभियांत्रिकी महाविद्यालयाची सामाजिक उद्योजकता, स्वच्छता आणि ग्रामीण प्रतिबद्धता विभागीय संस्था म्हणून निवड झाली असुन यामध्ये महाविद्यालय व कृती समिती सामाजिक उपक्रम राबविणार आहेत. यामध्ये खेड्यातील विकासासाठी गावे दत्तक घेण्यात येणार आहेत, स्वच्छतेसाठी प्रयत्न करणे असे अनेक उपक्रम राबविण्यात येणार आहेत.
